Lanseria International Airport Becomes First in Africa to Deploy Avionix FlightLine, Pioneering the Future of Surface and Airspace Awareness

Johannesburg, South Africa — 11 August 2025 — In a landmark achievement for African aviation, SSASS Holdings, the strategic African partner of uAvionix Corporation, has successfully completed the first installation of the FlightLine air traffic surveillance system at Lanseria International Airport, located north west of Johannesburg. The deployment marks the beginning of a new era of cost-effective, high-performance ADS-B-based situational awareness for airports across the African continent.

This installation is part of a broader campaign led by SSASS Holdings to implement FlightLine, uAvionix’s revolutionary aircraft surveillance system, across African airports — mirroring its recent expansion at major U.S. airports under the FAA’s Surface Awareness Initiative.

FlightLine provides precise, real-time surveillance of aircraft movements on and around the airport using ADS-B technology. Designed for rapid deployment, the solution offers airports a scalable and minimally disruptive pathway to enhance safety, efficiency, and visibility into both manned and unmanned aircraft operations.
